about

Musical Style: 70's inspired dub reggae, Dub reggae, Reggae, Dub

Musical Influences: Steel Pulse, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Etana

Lyrical Inspiration: Mt. Zion, Overcoming obstacles

Artist Quote: Mt. Zion is a song that reminds us to look to the most high when we are encountering obstacles in our life. The new dub version is vocal heavy and has an even heavier drum and bass feel than the original recording.

Track Description: SunDub reminds listeners that Mt. Zion can help us overcome any obstacle in “Mt. Zion Dub.” The group teamed up with legendary producer Victor Rice (Easy Star Records) to add a heavy drum and bass feel to the original track’s uplifting lyrics and breezy horn lines inspired by reggae greats like King Tubby, Dennis Brown, and Beres Hammond. This is the second dub to come out on Color Red in a series of three tracks.
